Shopify Analytics Apps Compared: Report Pundit, Mipler, More

Choosing a reporting app for your Shopify store comes down to one question: what do you want to do with the numbers once you have them? Some merchants want a finished dashboard to check every morning. Others want the underlying figures in a grid they can sort, extend with a formula, and send to a supplier.

This article compares four apps that answer that question differently: Report Pundit: Custom Reports, TP: True Profit Analytics, Mipler, and Mixtable Analytics Spreadsheet.

Detailed comparison

Report Pundit: Custom Reports

Report Pundit is built around breadth of coverage.

  • It offers 150+ prebuilt reports spanning sales, inventory, customers, tax, payouts, profit, fulfillment, and POS.
  • Reports can draw on metafields, tags, and line item properties, and support calculated columns.
  • It supports multi-store and multi-currency reporting.
  • Exports run to Excel, CSV, PDF, Google Sheets, and Slack, with scheduled email delivery.
  • The team will build custom reports for you. That service is included from the Grow plan ($19/month) upward.

The free plan is generous in features but restricted to stores with fewer than 1,000 lifetime orders, so most established stores land on a paid plan.

TP: True Profit Analytics

TP: True Profit Analytics does one job and does it thoroughly: telling you what you actually earned.

  • It tracks COGS, shipping, transaction fees, and custom costs, and syncs ad spend in real time from Meta, Google, TikTok, Bing, Snapchat, and Amazon.
  • It provides a real-time net profit dashboard, customer lifetime value, and profit and loss reporting.
  • It offers marketing attribution, a mobile app, multi-store views, and scheduled email reports.

Pricing is metered by order volume. Basic is $35/month for 300 orders, and additional orders are billed per order on top. A growing store should model its monthly order count before committing, because the effective price rises with the business.

Mipler

Mipler by Mirasvit sits between the two, pairing a large prebuilt catalog with a flexible builder.

  • It includes 100+ built-in reports, plus custom reports with personalized columns and calculations built from metafields and tags.
  • It covers P&L, COGS, margin, tax, payouts, customer lifetime value, marketing attribution, ROAS, and forecasting.
  • An AI assistant helps create and adjust reports.
  • Data exports to Google Sheets, Excel, CSV, and PDF, with scheduled email delivery, plus shareable report links and role-based team access on Pro.

Like Report Pundit, the free plan is capped at stores with fewer than 1,000 lifetime orders. Basic ($19.99/month) limits you to 10 custom reports, and unlimited custom reports arrive on Pro ($29.99/month).

Mixtable Analytics Spreadsheet

Mixtable Analytics Spreadsheet takes a different starting point. Instead of rendering a report you then export, it calculates metrics from your Shopify store data and puts them straight into a spreadsheet you can work in.

There are three ways to build a report:

  • Pivot Table worksheets summarize metrics across a business dimension. Break results down by vendor, product type, product category, product tag, collection, Shopify Market, or customer segment, and get one row per value.
  • Time Series worksheets track results over time, generating between 1 and 36 recent monthly columns or between 1 and 10 recent yearly columns. Break down by store, vendor, product type, Shopify Market, customer segment, or last-touch marketing channel.
  • Analytics columns on a Shopify data worksheet put calculated metrics next to the individual products, variants, customers, collections, orders, or B2B companies they belong to. Each column defines one metric, one timeframe, and optional order filters.

The metric set is deep. Sales metrics include Net Sales, Gross Sales, Total Sales, Orders Count, and Average Order Value. Financial metrics include net profit, gross profit, gross margin, cost of goods sold, discounts, refunds, tax, shipping, and duties. Beyond those, there are attribution metrics, fulfillment and delivery timing metrics, return metrics, and customer lifetime value. Timeframes cover all time, fixed dates, rolling periods, calendar year, and calendar month.

You can start from a blank Pivot Table or Time Series worksheet, or from the ready-made report library, which includes a vendor sales leaderboard, market sales mix, category sales breakdown, product tag scorecard, customer segment contribution, order fulfillment and delivery speed, product sales and return rate, variant margin and inventory, customer lifetime value and orders, and collection sales and refund rate.

Because the result is a real spreadsheet, you can sort it, filter it, add your own formula columns beside the calculated ones, and blend Shopify figures with data the store does not hold, such as supplier costs or channel budgets. Exporting the spreadsheet to Excel or a worksheet to CSV is built in.

The app is free.

Where the other apps are the better choice

Three honest limitations, so you can rule Mixtable out quickly if they matter to you:

  • No scheduled report delivery. Report Pundit, True Profit, and Mipler will all email a report on a schedule. Mixtable will not. You open the spreadsheet when you want the numbers.
  • No ad platform connections. True Profit pulls ad spend from supported platforms such as Meta, Google, TikTok, Bing, Snapchat, and Amazon. Mixtable calculates profit and margin from Shopify inventory cost, so ad spend has to come in as a column you supply. Mipler offers attribution and ROAS reporting, but its current public integration list does not show direct Meta or Google Ads cost syncing
  • Not a general BI platform. Mixtable supports reporting worksheets, report templates, and a defined set of metric and filter combinations. If you need arbitrary joins across external warehouses, a dedicated BI tool fits better.

If a scheduled morning profit email with ad spend already folded in is the product you want, True Profit is purpose-built for exactly that.

Which app is best for you?

Choose Report Pundit if you want the largest prebuilt catalog and a team that will build reports for you.

Choose True Profit if net profit after ad spend is the single number your business runs on, and order-based pricing works at your volume.

Choose Mipler if you want a flexible builder with AI assistance and dashboards.

Choose Mixtable Analytics Spreadsheet if you are the kind of merchant who exports the report anyway. If every reporting app you have tried ends with you downloading a CSV and rebuilding it in Excel, Mixtable removes that step: the report arrives as a spreadsheet, with your own formula columns sitting next to metrics calculated from Shopify store data. Mixtable is free and does not use a lifetime-order eligibility threshold or a paid report-count tier. Report Pundit’s paid plans also advertise unlimited orders and custom reports, while Mipler Pro advertises unlimited custom reports.

Most merchants can settle this in an afternoon. Report Pundit, Mipler, and Mixtable all have free plans, and True Profit has a 14-day trial.
