Bulk delete products in your Shopify store
To delete products in bulk in your Shopify store, work in a Products (no variants) worksheet, where each row is one product. Select the rows of the products you’d like to delete, just like you would in Excel: click the first row number and drag the mouse over the other row numbers. Then:
- To delete one product, right-click its row number and choose Delete product in Shopify…. To delete several at once, select their rows, then right-click one of the selected row numbers (or open the Row menu) and choose the option, which shows the count, for example Delete 3 products in Shopify…
- In the Delete Shopify Objects window, check the list of what will be deleted. This cannot be undone
- Click Delete, then click Are you sure?? to confirm
- Mixtable asks Shopify to delete the product. Once Shopify has deleted it, Mixtable clears the row and leaves it empty. To tidy up, choose Worksheet > Remove Empty Rows
Only the spreadsheet's owner can delete in Shopify, and only on rows linked to Shopify. Deleting also needs Mixtable Spreadsheet Editor installed in your store: if your store has only Mixtable Analytics Spreadsheet or Mixtable Export: Excel & CSV, the window says "Deleting in Shopify needs Mixtable Spreadsheet Editor" and nothing is deleted. If the worksheet is filtered, hidden rows are left alone.
If you only want to take rows out of your worksheet and leave the products in Shopify, right-click one of the selected row numbers and choose Remove 3 rows from sheet instead (the number matches your selection).
Tip: Deleting a product in Shopify is permanent, so it is worth checking its sales history first. Mixtable Analytics Spreadsheet can add net sales and units sold columns to the same Products worksheet, so you can confirm a product really has no sales before you remove it.
